The IAAF 2017 cross country championships will be held in Kampala Uganda, later this month on 26th March 2017, and will see fifty one nations competing. It will once again see East African countries battle it out for top spot in cross country sports. In my view, the two main countries will be Kenya versus Ethiopia, however, the host country Uganda, is also upcoming and will pose a challenge to both Kenya and Ethiopia. That being said, I believe team Kenya on paper will win, and I also believe team Ethiopia can win too. As for the hosts Uganda, chances of them winning are limited, then again they will have home advantage although that is no guarantee for a win. Other than team Uganda putting up a challenge to both Kenyan and Ethiopian runners, Uganda does not have the kind of experience (in my view) to cause an upset. Am focusing primarily on two African teams because they are the best, nonetheless ,they will be very many countries competing in this 2017 IAAF cross country championship, in Kampala Uganda.
Regarding tactics, the experience, speed and injury-free team of Kenya should win, and also team Ethiopia is also experienced and speedy. So come race day,its going to be all about tactical racing between Kenya and Ethiopia and maybe just maybe Uganda might also do well tactically, and put up a good show.
